Malawi is a beautiful country – rolling hills, brilliant sky and sparkling lakes; but, as is so often the case in the developing world, this beauty is only skin deep. Millions of orphans have lost one or both parents to the HIV/AIDS virus and many other are abandoned. Polygamy, unconcerned fathers, witchcraft and prostitution have all left their mark on this country. Word & Deed partners with various organizations to support orphan care, church leadership training, safe homes and youth development projects.

In March 2017, Logos Ministries hosted a four day in-service training conference for pastors and seminary students in Malawi.  Dr. Brian DeVries from Mukhanyo Theological College in South Africa taught on missional apologetics with applications appropriate to the African context.  Nearly 100 pastors attended this retreat at the CCAP training center in the central region of Malawi. The participants' questions and discussions are always a highlight of these in-service trainings as pastors share their ministry challenges and blessings, sharpen their doctrinal understanding, and enjoy fellowship together.

Please pray with us that these training conferences will be a great spiritual encouragement to church leaders in Malawi, that they will be equipped to faithfully serve their congregations, and that the Lord’s hand of blessing would be upon the church in Malawi.
