Partnering with Schools Around the World

Since it’s back to school season in North America, we thought we would share some information about some of the school programs that Word & Deed supports.

Almost all of our 25+ partners support educational programs in some shape or form. Ten of our partners operate Christian Day Schools and many others have After-School or Tutoring Programs to help students. Here are some examples:

Word & Deed helps to support 525 students in three After School Programs and one Christian Day School in Guatemala. Vulnerable children are not only offered a good education, but the message of the gospel that comes along with it!

Palabra Y Hecho Nicaragua hosts several different agricultural programs throughout the country, teaching their students how to grow crops, properly harvest them, and use their resources wisely and for the glory of the Lord.

Adoration Christian School in Haiti offers grades K-12. They have had a very difficult few years. Haiti is a country that suffers from gang violence and political unrest. Adoration is working very hard to give their students a solid education in the midst of shutdowns and many other concerns.

Education Plus in Costa Rica serves poor children who live in shanty towns. They offer tutoring classes and Bible clubs to these students and strive to make lasting relationships with them while sharing the gospel.

In Colombia, our partner Conviventia ministers to over 3,400 students every year and we are privileged to support their ministry to impoverished children in the poor areas of Colombia. Their education programs range from pre-school all the way through to post-secondary education supports.

Mision San Lucas operates three After-School Programs in the poor coastal town of Quininde, Ecuador. Children in Ecuador only have school for half of the day so three days per week, over 300 students spend the rest of their day at these After-School Program. The children receive help with their homework, participate in Bible lessons and a time of worship, and also receive a nutritious meal.

Musawenkosi Christian Academy (MCA) is a school that we support in South Africa. The mission of this school is to care for orphans and vulnerable children. Over half of the 180 children in the school have lost one or both parents to HIV/AIDS or other circumstances. MCA considers it their privilege to give new hope to these students through sharing the message of the gospel.

In Malawi, Word & Deed supports several orphan care programs that seek to help over 2,100 orphaned and vulnerable children through an After-School Program. The children receive meals, uniforms and school supplies, help with their homework, and participate in a time of worship and Bible lessons.

In South Sudan, we partner with Street Children Ministry who offers a Christian education and other supports to children who live on the streets. What an amazing ministry opportunity!

We also have several partners in Asia who offer After-School Programs to children in rural areas who otherwise would not receive a good education as well as Christian day schools to children who come from poor families.

What a blessing it is to be able to partner with organizations who offer gospel-filled education opportunities to thousands of children all over the world!
