Indonesia Cyclone Seroja Relief

Cyclone Seroja inflicted torrential rains, flash flooding, and intense winds onto southern Indonesian islands on Easter morning where our partner, Children of Light, has numerous schools.

Our contacts there estimate more than 100 people have perished while thousands of livelihoods and homes have suffered extensive damage. Communities connected to the local Reformed churches and schools have been urged to flee to higher ground leaving behind their homes and food. Cell connection was abruptly cut off from the remote islands so the full impact is not yet known. Assistance networks are being put in place, but with bridges destroyed, roads closed, and impassable seas, it will take time to access all areas of need.

Word & Deed Ministries has sent an initial $10,000 USD/ $12,500 CAD to assist in relief efforts. We covet your prayers at this time for our partner and all those impacted by this cyclone.
