Asia

Many countries in Asia can be complicated places for Christians. When a political party controls the government and is against all religions but their own, it makes life hard and can be deadly for Christians. Another difficulty Christians face is when authorities take control of the country by force, making their rule totalitarian, cutting off or monitoring communications from the outside world and arresting those who oppose their ideologies instills fear in the minds of people.

Word & Deed has six partners located in countries whose governments function as mentioned above. We have to care for these people by protecting them from possible persecution and not mentioning them on any online content. We can tell you about the various ways in which they minister to their people. They do so through the operation of Christian schools, afterschool programs, medical caravans, a sewing program for poor women, and theological education.

“If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you. Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted Me, they will also persecute you.” John 15:18-20a
