Basketball Tournament Raises $8,000 for the Philippines
With much thankfulness, Word & Deed was able to host a competitive basketball tournament on Saturday, February 11th at Heritage Christian School. It was a full tournament with 8 teams putting there best foot forward with every game. We congratulate “Hoop-Fest” as the winners and “Jordan HRC” taking 2nd place with a final score of 61-60! Thankfully, we only had a few minor injuries along with a healthy competitive attitude throughout the day. The teams were able to raise over $8,000 CAD for the rebuilding of small businesses in the Philippines.
A special thanks goes to Pastor Najapfour and Therren of the Jordan HRC for kickstarting the tournament to raise funds for a worthy cause. The Jordan Christian School Student Council took charge of providing drinks and lunch for the players. Thank you, ladies! We thank the Lord overall for allowing us to have a safe and fun tournament and we pray our play would have glorified His Name above all.
Enjoy some pictures of the day!
