Word & Deed has partnered with the Nigerian Reformed Churches to help construct a new building for the Jan Peter Baan Secondary School which serves 250 student in Ebonyi State, Nigeria. This building will replace an older building that was destroyed in a windstorm in April 2022. The school will be larger than the previous one, with four classrooms and a hall. It will also include all the resources needed to qualify it for government accreditation including a lab, library, and assembly hall. The local community is helping with some of the building supplies and labor needed. Word & Deed is assisting with the remaining costs. With this building, the staff and students at JPBSS will have the opportunity to have the learning spaces needed to receive accreditation and to continue to provide Christian education to needy children in Nigeria for many years to come. The budget for this project is $93,000 CAD/ $70,000 USD.
