Refugee Relief in Asia

In early 2021, the country of Myanmar was thrown into chaos after a military coup caused wide-spread panic and loss of freedom for the people of this country. Due to this ongoing situation, India has become a shelter to many refugees. Word & Deed has a relationship with an organization in this area of India. These people confirmed the influx of refugees in their region. In response to this situation, Word & Deed has now sent a total of $86,000 USD / $110,000 CAD to provide food and other essential supplies to 1,000 refugee families. These families were chosen by a committee consisting of local church members. Due to the panic and fear of the refugees, our friends in India have found that the Gospel message is just as essential for these people as the food relief itself. The refugees are very receptive to hearing the Word of God. It was even reported to us that over 100 Bibles were distributed to Buddhist refugees. Please remember the dire situation of Myanmar in your prayers and pray for the continued spread of the Gospel amongst these people.
