Marina Guadalupe
Marina lives with her parents and one little brother. Marina?s parents are married since ten years ago and they are a happy family also they attend the church. They live in a very poor and small village of a rural area of Guatemala. Marina?s brother is Jose and he is four years old. Marina?s father work as farmer, but his incomes are low and it is not enough to provide all the necessary for his family and for their education. Marina?s father work hard for his education and Marina?s parents are very happy, because she attend and studies in a safe place and she learns about God word and good things. This family are living in a house built with block and brick walls and tin roofing. They have electricity and water service, they pay for these services $.26.00. nnMarina goes by bus about twenty five minutes to attend the student center, she likes to study and her favorite subject is Communication class. Marina dreams of being a doctor, also she likes to watch t.v. Guatemala
Guatemala is an incredibly diverse country with 23 different language groups. Climate conditions can range from steamy hot coastal weather to frigid cold mountain weather where temperatures regularly drop below the freezing mark. Like many Latin American countries, it is also a country marked by violence and poverty. The presence of ruthless drug cartels has led to extortion, corruption, kidnapping, and many violent deaths in this country. Word & Deed partners with AMG Guatemala to help facilitate Christian education for hundreds of children in Guatemala. We also partner with them in the operation of a rural hospital.
